QUICK AND EASY PUBLIC TRANSPORT!
Im sick of the Melbourne public transport system. We are the fastest growing city in Australia and our population will one day surpass Sydneys. And as more and more people move into the city we need to improve our public transport system. What we need is constant non stop express trains to the outskirts of the metropolian area and trams coming to all major shopping centers plus a monorail connecting all of Melbournes rapidly deveolping Docklands precint. Our trains are old and dated and personally i think we need some quicker and more modern one that runs on all the same system to Geelong, Ballarat, Mildura from Melbourne and these need to be express trains and fancy new ones that can travel at a world class speed. We are an awfuly large country and although we don't have a huge population we still need quick alternatives to connect out all our widely spread cities and major towns. We even need a basic train connecting all of the east coast of Australia. Driving takes to long and if we can build fast express trains all the way from melbourne to brisbane via sydney and the gold coast. The goverment really needs to pour some money into a world class transport system. A reason propsed plan was to build a Maglev train system from melbourne to geelong and via frankston to give them quick access to the city. OFCOURSE THIS WAS CANCELLED! Yes we are getting faboulas new freeways such as the eastlink and new pensulia link to be constructed soon it still isn't a green solution and nethier suitable for the urban population because they have to go down 4 freeways just to make it to the other side of the state or down to the penisula. While Melbourne was well planed and set right on the water and centraly in the middle of Victoria and like all major Australian cities besides our pointless capital Canberra it has been made to offer easy access for ships to come in. However I still do not rest my case on Melbourne and the whoel east coast needing a major public transport system that could connect as all together and make our cities far more accesiabel.
It's time to throw some money back into OZ.

With this current econmic meltdown and all I thought I should do my part for Australia. We don't have much money to back a massive industrie for small goods to export to the world and most of our small high quailty countries are being bought out by forigen investors. We don't turn in millions from wealth investors moving to our cities for opportunity instead those international relocators to our nation are often people searching for some money to pop in there pocket or atleast have a backyard with some grass. So I thought I should show of some of our lovely nation. I know this blog isn't the most popular in the world I may only have 2-6 viewers who actually look at it on a regular basis, it still might attract atleast one to come down to Australia.

The one place where things are actually cheap!
Sorry I haven't been posting for a while with school and everything but anyway yer. During the summer I traveled to Bali and I loved it to death. When you first arive you will probaly hate it. The day you wake up the next day your inlove. The people are so friendly and it's such a relaxed but vibrant island. When it comes to money it's ever so cheap even in this econmoic crisis, and this hasen't caused any drop in tourism. You can feed 9 people with 2 drinks each, dinner and dessert for about 90,000 rupiah at kuta night market witch is say about $11 australian dollars, then you have a more upmarket restraunt say the "SEASIDE" on the beach in Legian.....I highly recomend it by the way it's beautiful....this will cost you about 350,000 rupiahs or so witch is about $45 australian dollars for 5 people with 2 drinks and dinner and 1 dessert....now how could you complain about that. In Australia the cheapest meal I could get in a basic clean restraunt would be about $80 dollars, and a restraunt in Bali that would cost $45 dollars and is alot nicer then the basic $80 dollar meal for 4 people with 1 drink each and no dessert here in Australia. Now I have basicly covered just how cheap Bali and how much I loved it....so if your looking for a cheap friendly faboulas holiday it's time to pack your bags and few hundred dollars or euros whatever you have and flea to Bali!
Where did I stay: Legian Beach Resort (Top location just a walk away from Kuta but still the relaxation of Nusa Dua)
Who did i fly with: (Garuda Indonesia, comfortable and a direct flight from Melbourne without a million transfers. Good service.
Cheapest meal: Nasi Goreng from Slemat on Legian beach directly opposite the Legian Beach resort facing onto Legian Beach. Price-10,000 Rupiah ($1.29 Australian Dollars) Slemats is in the picture up the top.
Best Foot Message: Wayane is the most lovely and most funny lady you will ever meet, if your ever on Legian beach and meet a lady offering you a foot scrub named Wayane with big teeth and big lips, take it. Oh there are alot of Wayanes in Bali aswell lol and I mean every first child born! Oh and she is normally at Slemats.
Favourite thing: The people and the vibrant life of Bali.
Would I go back again: Ofcourse! I would be there right now if I could!
How much money should I take: If your traveling alone take about $500. You end up wanting to buy alot of stuff so mabey even more.....but compared to other exotic destinations it's alot more cheaper.
Where should I get surfing lessons: Aron his name is and he works right next to Slemats. A funny 23 year old Lombok boy and he will no doubt be your best friend and every other tourists friend the minute they step on Legian Beach.
What should I not buy: Bamboo tempoary tatoo's they get scabbie and and sweat bubbles cover them.....and I am far from a sweaty person but in Bali, YOU SWEAT! It is a much more moist humid heat then Australia's heat and even more humid then Cairns.
Rain: When it rains, it rains! One night we were coming home from Jimbaran Bay and it rained so much that everybody's cars were breaking down and scooters.....we got out to push the car and the water was up to our knee's. However it drys up really fast thanks to the humidty.

Victorian Bushfires.

Last weekend my state of Australia (Victoria) was devastated by the worst natural disaster ever recorded in Australian history. So far the death toll is at nearly 200 and 1500 homes have been destoryed. Nearly 10 country towns have been comepletely wiped out with nothing left then the trees of ash and acres of dust. The whole city has been facing smoky days with the smell of smoke floating across Melbourne. Each sunset is as like a ball of fire every day latley. For 2 weeks Victoria and South Australia went through the worst heatwave ever with a week of 45.c plus heat.....not only did this spark some small bushfires, every single garden was dead. My back lawn was dry and crisp and the plants and trees were as brown as the soil. 50,000 dollars of landscaping went down the train. Victoria only has 32% of water in its water storages and this is not likely to improve...we are going threw the worst drought in european Australian history. All across the state people were turning on their aircondtioners at full force and the whole Southbank district of Melbourne lost electricity, including Australias largest casino. We have finally escaped this heatwave but fires are still burning and the death toll is rising every day and more and more inoccent people and animals are departed from this world. While natural bushfires can be big, these current bushfires have also been cause by man. Victorian police have so far caught one arsinest and he shell be chared of murder and possession of child pornography.......he will be in jail for 25 years.

Memoirs of a Geisha

This is my favourite movie. I have a obsession with Japan. I am not really into movies and it's hard to ever find a good movie that you really like. I loved this movie though. It gives westerners a deep insight into the world of the geisha and Japanese culture.
:Chieo is a 6 year old girl from fishing village, her mother is dieing and her farther is forced to sell her and her sister away to a Geisha house in the city of Kyoto. Her sister is however unwanted and sent away to another Geisha house and Chieo must face the troubels of the horibel Hatsimoumu (the akira's most valuabel Geisha). As Chieo is finally bribed with Hatsimoumu telling her where her sister is Chieo finds her sister and is given one last chance to meet her sister in run away. Chieo lost that chance and never saw her sister again and her mother and farther had soon departured this world not long after. Chieo is left to pay of her debt to the Akira, cleaning and looking after Hatsimoumu. Pumpkin, Hatsimoumu's sister is soon to become a Geisha. Until one of the the most famouse Geisha's of all time named Mahma arrives at the door of the Akira to take Chieo in offering a incredibel deal to the owner of the Akira. Chieo is surprised to discover that Mahma would want her after the horribel things Hatsimoumu had forced Chieo to do to Mahma's prised Kimono to find where her sister was. Chieo is atoped into the world as a Geisha and the men of Kyoto fall in love with her. Her virginty is bidden as the highest ever even beating Mahma's and she becomes the most desirabel Geisha in history. Hatsimoumu is incredibel jealous that Chieo has deafted her little sister Pumpkin but little does she know Chieo will do more then that. The head of the Akira decidedes to adopt Chieo as her daughter and Pumpkin (Chieo was best friends with Pumpkin) is devasted that Chieo had stolen her lfie long dream. Hatsimoumu loses her temper and attempts to destroy Chieo. As the Akira is burnt down to shreds Hatsimoumu leaves the Akira forever. Not long after World War 2 looms over Japan at the time of the Hiroshima bombings and Chieo is sent to the hills for years. She returns and meets the man she had dreamed of her whole life that she had met on the kyoto bridge when she was just a young girl. She saw becoming a geisha would bring her every bit closer to him.
All I can say........if you love Japan you must see this movie! Its excellent! *****
I have watched it 5 times and it only gets better every time.

Japan

Japan is one of my favourite countries. I have been fasinated by it for years. With its painted faces and towering skyscrapers meeting one another it is truely a modern country meeting with one of the oldest societys on earth. Japan experienced a great deal of change after world war 2. While it was destroyed to ruins it managed to reinvent its self to a world super power. The western world invested into the country and the made in japan logo was not uncommen in house holds. Like China today it struggled to become a respected country to the western world and whatever came out of there was considered cheap. In 1964 Tokyo hosted the olympics and showed its self to tthe world, just like Beijing has recently. Today Japan is one of the most advanced and most modern countries on earth, it boasts the worlds longest life expectancy and nearly every bit of modern world class technolgy is coming out of Japan. Tokyo with its neon lights, multi million dollar digital advertisment screens and its bullet trains makes any forigner feel like they are 20 years into the future. While Japan may boast all this culture is just as amazing. With its traditonal kimonos and ancient temples from the edo periode and beyond, and as the night comes geishas walk the streets of gion and brings the old world to life!

Clever parking.
$1,000,000 dollar plates for the bushes!

Ok, let me just make this clear! America is in a ressecion and there greed has got nearly every major countrie into this problem! And now president bush and his wife have decided to spend over a million dollars or something on gold plates for there last dinner! Gee that certainly beats my mums $500 dinner set for special occasions. I would love to know how much there toliet paper costs! Oh wait there using $100 bills. Gee.....and theres stuffing people out there living on less then 50 cents a month. I think the Bush's need a reailty check! Thats my opion.

Today I thought i would give you a little bit of Chinese propaganda art. If you do not know what the hell that is....well it is giant advertisment posters made by the chinese communist socialst party during the era of the chinese revolution when Mao Ze Dong was in charge. I personally love the look of it. And me being one of the very few anti western people who is actually western is all up for china over taking the world. If you are an american reading this....i am here not to offened you but i do not personally care for your "america is the best" or "i will nuke china" comments because they have a population nearly tripple the size of yours...and russia and north korea behind them.Monday, January 5, 2009
