Sorry I haven't been posting for a while with school and everything but anyway yer. During the summer I traveled to Bali and I loved it to death. When you first arive you will probaly hate it. The day you wake up the next day your inlove. The people are so friendly and it's such a relaxed but vibrant island. When it comes to money it's ever so cheap even in this econmoic crisis, and this hasen't caused any drop in tourism. You can feed 9 people with 2 drinks each, dinner and dessert for about 90,000 rupiah at kuta night market witch is say about $11 australian dollars, then you have a more upmarket restraunt say the "SEASIDE" on the beach in Legian.....I highly recomend it by the way it's beautiful....this will cost you about 350,000 rupiahs or so witch is about $45 australian dollars for 5 people with 2 drinks and dinner and 1 dessert....now how could you complain about that. In Australia the cheapest meal I could get in a basic clean restraunt would be about $80 dollars, and a restraunt in Bali that would cost $45 dollars and is alot nicer then the basic $80 dollar meal for 4 people with 1 drink each and no dessert here in Australia. Now I have basicly covered just how cheap Bali and how much I loved it....so if your looking for a cheap friendly faboulas holiday it's time to pack your bags and few hundred dollars or euros whatever you have and flea to Bali!
Where did I stay: Legian Beach Resort (Top location just a walk away from Kuta but still the relaxation of Nusa Dua)
Who did i fly with: (Garuda Indonesia, comfortable and a direct flight from Melbourne without a million transfers. Good service.
Cheapest meal: Nasi Goreng from Slemat on Legian beach directly opposite the Legian Beach resort facing onto Legian Beach. Price-10,000 Rupiah ($1.29 Australian Dollars) Slemats is in the picture up the top.
Best Foot Message: Wayane is the most lovely and most funny lady you will ever meet, if your ever on Legian beach and meet a lady offering you a foot scrub named Wayane with big teeth and big lips, take it. Oh there are alot of Wayanes in Bali aswell lol and I mean every first child born! Oh and she is normally at Slemats.
Favourite thing: The people and the vibrant life of Bali.
Would I go back again: Ofcourse! I would be there right now if I could!
How much money should I take: If your traveling alone take about $500. You end up wanting to buy alot of stuff so mabey even more.....but compared to other exotic destinations it's alot more cheaper.
Where should I get surfing lessons: Aron his name is and he works right next to Slemats. A funny 23 year old Lombok boy and he will no doubt be your best friend and every other tourists friend the minute they step on Legian Beach.
What should I not buy: Bamboo tempoary tatoo's they get scabbie and and sweat bubbles cover them.....and I am far from a sweaty person but in Bali, YOU SWEAT! It is a much more moist humid heat then Australia's heat and even more humid then Cairns.
Rain: When it rains, it rains! One night we were coming home from Jimbaran Bay and it rained so much that everybody's cars were breaking down and scooters.....we got out to push the car and the water was up to our knee's. However it drys up really fast thanks to the humidty.
